Durabook Launches Next-Generation S15 Model for the Thinnest and Lightest 15.6” Semi-Rugged Laptop Boasting 12th Gen Intel® CPU

Durabook Launches Next-Generation S15 Model for the Thinnest and Lightest 15.6” Semi-Rugged Laptop Boasting 12th Gen Intel® CPU

Durabook, the global rugged mobile solutions brand owned by Twinhead International Corporation, today announced the launch of the next-generation S15 semi-rugged laptop, equipped with the latest 12th Gen Intel® CPU processor…

With a comprehensive set of connectivity options and its capability for further expandability, the S15 is the thinnest and lightest 15.6” device on the market, exceeding standard requirements to deliver a powerful, premium performance and exceptional user experience.

Twinhead’s CEO, Fred Kao, said: “This enhanced S15 model has been elevated to produce the optimum device for professional users seeking utmost performance in the field. Its premium capabilities and lightweight form make it ideal for operatives working across various sectors, including utilities, automotive, public safety, construction and logistics, as well as governmental agencies and organisations, looking for a superior semi-rugged laptop.”

Superb CPU performance and functionality

Upgrading the S15 CPU to the latest Intel® 12th generation Alder Lake platform, with Intel® Core™ i7 and i5 processors, is significant because its performance is now up to 206% faster than the previous 8th Gen CPU. This innovation makes it the ideal device for professional users seeking exceptional functionality from their device. The S15 can also be equipped with up to three storage devices; two NVMe PCIe SSDs and a third SATA SSD, meaning it can be transformed into a working station, allowing for RAID 0 and RAID 1 support.

Enhanced visual experience

The S15 features a 15.6” Full HD (1920 x 1080) DynaVue® sunlight readable display with up to 1,000 nits brightness that reveals every detail of visual image at a glance. It is also delivered with with Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics as standard, boosting computing power to process large amounts of data, images and video feeds in real-time. In addition, an optional dedicated NVIDIA® Quadro T1000 transforms the laptop into the ultimate solution for specific tasks, including graphics rendering, architectural illustrations and CAD applications.

Perfect design for mobility and security

Despite its thin and lightweight design, the S15 is certified with MIL-STD-810H, to withstand drops of 4-feet, and IP5X resistance for protection against dust ingress. Its 98-key membrane keyboard with dedicated numeric keypad, saves users time by providing a better typing experience and facilitating diverse professional applications. To boost performance capabilities, the laptop’s 12-hour battery life means it remains operational for extended periods without any downtime, while it can also be equipped with a bridge battery, allowing users to swap batteries in the field. Security-wise, the S15 provides advanced security support, including optional smart card reader, RFID/NFC reader and fingerprint scanner to meet the demands of an ever-evolving mobile work environment. It also features an optional 5MP infrared camera, supporting Windows Hello facial recognition, and Windows 11 secured-core PC, providing protection against sophisticated attacks in some of the most data-sensitive industries.

Reliable connectivity for the modern workforce

Equipped with powerful Thunderbolt 4 and enhanced with advanced wireless capabilities, including cellular options of 4G LTE or 5G, Intel® WI-FI 6E AX211 and Bluetooth® V5.3, the S15 makes connecting the modern workspace more flexible and simpler than ever. The S15 is also equipped with USB 3.2 Type-C and Type-A ports, while built-in GPS provides accurate location tracking and geographic overviews. What makes the S15 so unique in terms of connectivity, is that it also features a RJ45 ethernet port, serial port, nano SIM card slot, microSD slot and an optional 41-pin Pogo docking connector, making it the most versatile 15.6” semi-rugged laptop available in the market.
