Durabook Upgrades U11I Rugged Tablet With 12th Gen Intel® CPU and Architectural Innovations for the Most Versatile 11-inch Rugged Tablet

Durabook Upgrades U11I Rugged Tablet With 12th Gen Intel® CPU and Architectural Innovations for the Most Versatile 11-inch Rugged Tablet

Durabook, the global rugged mobile solutions brand owned by Twinhead International Corporation, today announced significant updates to its U11I fully rugged tablet. With its 12th Gen Intel® CPU processor and other architectural innovations it is the most versatile 11-inch rugged tablet, going above and beyond standard requirements to elevate the professional user’s experience.

Upgrading the U11I CPU to the latest Intel® 12th generation Alder Lake platform, with Intel® Core™ i7 and i5 processors, is significant because it enables performance up to 225% faster than the previous, 10th Gen CPU. Sporting the Coolfinity™ fanless thermal solution lets the U11I tablet operate quietly while offering greater reliability and decreased downtime and repairs that negatively impact productivity.

The inclusion of Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics boosts the U11I’s computing power to process large amounts of data, images, and video feeds in real time. Packing these and numerous other functions and features into a rugged tablet appeals to professional users that desire the utmost performance with the ease of a tablet.

“Durabook purposefully optimised and bolstered every function and feature of the U11I rugged tablet to establish the most versatile available device in its class,” said Twinhead CEO Fred Kao. “It exceeds accepted norms to serve as a powerful and capable ally in hazardous and extreme environments.”

Rock-solid design for ultimate endurance

Certified with MIL-STD-810H to withstand drops of up to 6 feet and IP66 classification, the U11I is built for endurance and can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C (- 4°F to 140°F). Its MIL-STD-461G and ANSI/UL C1D2 status means it is designed specifically for work in hazardous environments, such as the oil and gas, mining and manufacturing industry.

This classification offers field service professionals assurance they can use the device to provide remote support, capture and access critical information in the field and run diagnostics with the highest accuracy. In addition, its quick-release NVMe SSD storage makes it the ideal device for those operating in the defense and military sector, where security is paramount, and the automotive, law enforcement and utilities sectors.

Exceptional clarity in every environment

Durabook understands that professional operatives often work in challenging environments.

With this in mind, the U11I features an 11.6” FHD (1920 x 1080) 10-point capacitive multi-touch display with Durabook’s proprietary DynaVue® technology and up to 1,000 nits brightness for exceptional viewing even in direct sunlight. In addition, it boasts four advanced touch modes; Glove, Stylus, Water, Finger, with optional digitizer, optimising use for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Unparalleled connectivity

Equipped with Thunderbolt 4 technology, the U11I is designed to support the modern workspace by providing powerful yet simple and flexible connectivity. In addition to its USB 3.2 Type-C and Type-A ports, the U11I is unique in featuring a RJ45 ethernet port, nano SIM card slot, microSDXC slot and a smart card reader, making it the most versatile rugged tablet available on the market. Advanced wireless capabilities include cellular options of 4G LTE or 5G, Intel® WI-FI 6E AX211, and Bluetooth® V5.3.

Benefits for operatives include increased throughput, reduced latency, more simultaneous connections, improved consistency in dense areas, higher user capacity per tower, enhanced spectral efficiencies for more robust and reliable network connections and a much more solid platform for future development.

Infinite customisation for optimum versatility:

Durabook knows that customisation is key, so the latest U11I model is exceptionally versatile. Expansion options include a barcode reader, serial port RS-232, RFID/NFC reader, PCMCIA Type II slot, ExpressCard 54 slot and a second smart card reader.

This versatile functionality increases readability and usability, perfect for those working outside a traditional office, such as field engineers needing to gather relevant information and maintain and track various logs, reports, and field records. Additionally, its ultra-long battery life of up to 10 hours, plus the option of a high-capacity battery of up to 20 hours, enhances its versatility.

The U11I can also be equipped with a bridge battery, allowing users to hot swap batteries in the field, and enabling field professionals to operate without interruption when charging isn’t possible.

Availability

The new updated U11I starts at USD 2,249, EUR 2,141 and GBP 1,799 and is available for purchase now.
